Ford Escape Recall

Ford Escape is still best selling in spite the fact that the Ford Company is recalling 130,000
Ford Escape Utility Vehicles due to defect that can cause the driver and front
seat passenger seat belts to fail to latch. Last year, at December, Ford recalled
132,243 Ford Escape SUVs also because of seat belt defect. On 2000, Ford recalled
its 2001 Escape small SUV in the month of August, this time because of improper
manufacturing of the nut holding steering wheel which might crack.
The cruise control mechanism on V6 models may jam or corrode that will allow
the throttle to stick open. September of the same year, 23,500 were also recalled.
At October, a hundred thousand of 1999 F-series light duty pickups that could
have fuel leaks; 709,245 F-series trucks, model 1997 for improper installing of
mounting brackets that might create a hole in front of the front fuel line; 800
SUV for possible defective speed control cables. On November 27,516 Escapes were
recalled. In the year 2004 Ford Motor Co. is recalling 363,440 Escape compact
sports utility vehicles of the 2001 to 2003 models because of the possibility
that the engine might stall at certain speeds. There are Escapes with 3.0-liter
V6 engine to experience an intermittent stall when decelerating at speeds below
40 mph.
