2003 FordEscape Recall

Ford Motors Co. is recalling 363,440 Escape compact sports utility vehicles for possible engine stall at certain speeds of the 2001-2003 models. An intermittent stall can be experienced on some Escapes with a 3-liter V6 engine when decelerating at speeds below 40 mph.

 

The engine control modules are needed to be reprogrammed. 2003 Ford Escape trucks 2WD L4-122 2.OL DOHC VIN B Zetec SFI and 2003 Ford Truck Escape 2WD V6-181 3.OL DOHC VIN 1 Duratec are under automotive recalling, the company has already issued a TSB or Technical Service Bulletin for the problem. There are 65 consumer complaints, including problems regarding brakes, electrical system, equipment, interior system, misc. components, power train, steering, structure, visual systems, and suspensions, wheels and tires for the 2003 model.
